We started as wine enthusiasts many years ago and then went deeper. We drank – with attention – large quantities of great wines. We took classes at U.C. Davis in enology and viticulture. We took WSET exams. We were sommeliers and wine buyers at leading restaurants in New York City. We started wine consulting businesses. We made wine. We worked harvest in Burgundy, California, Italy and the North Fork of Long Island. We attended countless wine tastings and evaluated thousands of bottles of wine. We left other businesses to start Blacksmith Wines because we are obsessed with fine wines and fine spirits and we appreciate other people who are obsessed with the same.
